ACT WITHOUT ACTOR

PoemMain IdeaBooks of Poems6 Groups of Topics10 Skills & Topics

Actor is not action,

actor in space of action.

Filled with what should be done and what should not be done,

no room left for doing.

Grasping action,

no space for action.

Claiming action,

action slips out unawares.

No actor, no claims,

right action prevails.

Under action,

action is complete without an actor.

Hosting action,

action accomplished through non-action.

Amplifying action,

all is accomplished through non-claiming.

—Kevin Everett FitzMaurice

  • The actor prevents action.

Stop Trying & Worrying

  • We often get in the way of things being done because of our trying and worrying.
  • Trying to do something means that you are using thinking as if it were a force or power that could do something.
  • Therefore, your trying is failing because it prevents you from receiving and hosting the energy and power you need to get something done.
  • Worrying like trying, fills your mind with thinking instead of energy.
  • Worrying, like trying is using the wrong method (thinking) in order to achieve a right goal.
  • In the case of worrying, the goal is usually safety or security.
  • Both of which cannot be guaranteed or obtained in an absolute sense in the world.
