The Bible Is Your Answer
Why You Must Accept the Bible As Literal or Not at All
- You are for or against it. If you are lukewarm, then you get nothing in the end.
- Read and discover the best scriptural understanding of the nature of yourself.
1. God is smart enough to say what He means to say.
- You believe human books are smart enough to say what they mean to say.
- Why not God’s book?
“Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left.” —Deuteronomy 2:27
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” —Matthew 7:13–14
2. God is smart enough to mean what He says when He says it.
- You believe human authors are smart enough to say what they mean when they write books.
- Why don’t you believe God is smart enough to mean what He says?
“Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” —Proverbs 30:6
3. Christ said that scripture cannot be broken.
- God’s integrity is perfect and cannot be lost; therefore, it is impossible to break up His word so that you can pick and choose what you want.
“If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;” —John 10:35
4. When you break God’s word through interpretation or studying what men say about it, then you are lost.
- Either you are hearing the Holy Ghost teach you the meaning, or you are not getting the meaning and need to wait.
“But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.” —Isaiah 28:13
5. The Bible is not to be interpreted or understood with personal or private meanings.
- Scripture is from God, not man.
“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” —2 Peter 3: 15–17
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” —2 Peter 1:19–21
6. God gave us the Bible as a guide, not for arguing.
- Your guide is scripture, not men.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” —2 Timothy 3:16–17
7. Do not seek an understanding of the Bible from men but from God.
- Your teacher is the Holy Ghost, not men.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” —John 14:26
“But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” —1 John 2:27
8. You do not need confirmation from any man before you teach God’s word.
- Peter did not consult with others before beginning to teach.
“But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, 16 to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 17 neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.” —Galatians 1:15–17
9. Men cannot give you understanding. Men cannot give you wisdom.
“This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.” —Ephesians 4:17–19
10. Men have nothing to offer of their own.
All of men’s claims to know are sins and against God.
- Humans have no intelligence of their own.
- Scripture References: Man’s Opinion Worthless
11. It is absurd to try to dispute God since you can only attempt to do so with His intelligence.
- You cannot use God’s intelligence against God and expect to win.
- Scripture References: Non-Doing & Rest
12. You can follow man’s religions and the religious about the Bible, or you can follow the Bible.
- You can follow God or man. You cannot serve two masters.
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” —Matthew 6:23
13. You must commit 100% to uphold and stand by God’s word.
- You must count all men liars to prefer the Word of God over man’s words.
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.” —1 Corinthians 3:19
14. This world and all its books, schools, and teachings will be forgotten, but Christ’s words will not be forgotten.
- Christ said His words will stand forever.
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” —Matthew 24:35
15. You must trust God above yourself.
- Abraham trusted God was right even when God told Abraham to do evil. You only need to trust that God knows more than you do.
- Scripture References: Trust
16. You often have mercy on the teachings of men. Instead, have mercy on God’s teachings.
- Give the Bible the benefit of the doubt, and you will find it makes perfect sense.
“For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” —Hosea 6:6
“But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” —Matthew 9:13
17. If you pick and choose what you want from the Bible, then you are the enemy of God because you are claiming to know better than God.
“For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.” –I Corinthians 4:4
“And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.” –I Corinthians 8:2
18. Either believe it all or none.
- If you believe none, then you can later repent and be saved.
- But if you are lukewarm and take only what pleases your teachers, you will be cast out.
- Some things and some choices are absolute and extreme, or they are false. Choosing life as the ultimate value is extreme. Choosing God over man is absolute.
“So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.” —Revelation 3:16
