10 STEPS OF EGO INSANITY

  1. I give my identity to some thought.
  2. Since I have identified with some thought, I have trapped it. Since I now possess it, I claim to know it.
  3. I use my attention to take that thought to my comparative mind.
  4. Since I am comparing and judging that thought, I claim I am doing it.
  5. The thought is weighed in-between the duality known as knowledge. This conflict between what-is and what-should-be produces a result.
  6. Since I have a judgment, a result from comparing that thought, I claim I created that result.
  7. Since I created that result, I claim I am that result and so I identify with that result. The result is my comparison, judgment, the result of measuring the first thought.
  8. Since I am some judgment, I want to emotionally experience what I am.
  9. I use my attention to take the result to my feeling mind. The feeling mind produces sensations of my judgment.
  10. I feel good or bad depending on whether the comparison is good or bad. That is, I have ego pleasure (pride) when the judgment is good and ego pain (shame) when the judgment is bad.
