- Winning strategy: Focus on another hosted-mind than the one performing in the event. For example, focus on biting your lip, weirdly holding your tongue, standing in an odd posture, or some other insignificant physical act that you can do without interfering with the performance act.
- The point is not to interfere with the positive hosted-mind throwing the baseball, kicking the football, or playing the trumpet. Instead, you let your mind think about something active but insignificant, like grinding your teeth or squinting your eyes. In gambling, this tactic is known as the gambler’s tell because it gives away the tension to the other players.
- You might think you want to or are trying to stop a hosted-mind with many thoughts against it, but they are just host-minds, so they have no power over it. This error is evident in addiction, obsession, and compulsion but elsewhere too.
- You are trying to remove a clothespin but are having difficulty because you have two ideas (hosted-minds) about how to do it. You switch to a third idea (hosted-mind), and the clothespin comes off easily because only one positive hosted-mind is active.
- It’s not me; the hosted-mind is doing it, so the hosted-mind can be perfect even when I am not.
- I don’t have to believe in or trust me to trust positive hosted-minds, but if I am immersed in ego then I might think I have to be good to host and reflect a good hosted-mind, which is untrue.
- Self-constructions (ego, mental objects, self-esteem) are unable to act as host-minds (receive signals) or as hosted-minds (transmit signals).
- You cannot deserve positive hosted-minds because they are always a gift.

We want to predict the future because doing so is known to help us survive.
- Step one: Some challenge, conflict, distress, disturbance, or stress (event) is noted that has the potential to produce negative consequences.
- Step two: The ego is judged in relation to the existence of the event that occurred in step one.
- Step three: The judgment is that the ego deserves to be negative. The reasons are that only a negative ego would receive the negative event, only a negative ego deserves such a negative event, such a negative event only happens to negative egos, and other superstitious beliefs and ideas about how the negative is your ego’s due.
- Step four: Choose negative hosted-minds to match the negative ego: water seeks its own level.
- Step five: You fail by using negative hosted-minds.

- Stop the ego madness by realizing the ego is nobody: not a being but just dead concepts and images of a being.
- Understand that the ego can do nothing because it is not a being, has no power, and cannot act.
- Quit the game of judging who deserves what and start accepting winning positive hosted-minds all the time.
- Realize that positive hosted-minds are always freely available for everyone.
- Stop these three false expectations, judgments, and predictions: (1) I am the ego. (2) I deserve the negative because my ego is negative. (3) I will receive the negative whatever I do to prevent it.
