Self-Talk Tests: What Does It Serve?

  1. Does the self-talk think of you are the “knower”?
  2. Does the self-talk think of you as the “doer”?
  3. Does the self-talk think of you as being or becoming something?
  • If you can answer “yes” to any of the above, then that self-talk is serving the ego.

Self-Talk Tests: Self-Talk Shoulds

The basic shoulds of self-talk:

  1. I should be this.
  2. I should not be that.
  3. I should do that.
  4. I should not do that.
  • The above shoulds can be used either for or against self.

Self-Talk Tests: Self or Ego

  • You need to know that the nature of self is as an amplifier, host, mirror, reflector, and transceiver.
  • You need to know that the nature of ego is thought and thought as you knowing, doing, being, or becoming something.
  1. Then you can ask if the self-talk is about what you should amplify or what you should know.
  2. Then you can ask if the self-talk is about what you should magnify or what you should do.
  3. Then you can ask if the self-talk is about what you should host or what you should become.

Self-Talk Tests: Thinking Helpful or Hurtful

  • Thinking that helps you to keep your true identity as a vessel is helpful thinking.
  • Thinking that helps you keep your false identity as concepts and images is hurtful thinking.
  • Serve ego and serve your own death as things and thoughts.
